MEET OUR PASTOR
As Paul outlines in 1 Timothy 4:13 and 2 Timothy 4:1-5, preaching and teaching are commands of God who has promised to use them for salvation. These are tasks that those called to be pastors and elders commit to for building up the Church.
Bradley Powers has been the pastor of Berean Baptist Church for 20 years. In his early years, he was given opportunities to serve through teaching and later preaching. He was encouraged by mature Christians in his church and chose to follow God’s call to pastoral service. He graduated from Toronto Baptist Seminary in April 1984 and started at Mitchell Square Baptist Church in Oro, Ontario, in June of 1984.
It was there that Brad met his wife, Lorrilyn, and were blessed with three children: Kaitlyn, Micaela, and Braeden. In November 2000, Brad began his ministry at Berean Baptist Church and moved his young family that December to Sudbury, Ontario.
“God does not give any one Christian every gift; nor does He give gifts merely for our own benefit, but to be to the mutual benefit of the “body”, the Church (1 Corinthians 12). It is important for all to participate as God leads, so that the whole is to God’s glory (Ephesians 4:11-16).” - Bradley Powers
